Promotora La Costa S.A. was created in 1974 to complete the Project of Condovac La Costa, a project that consisted of 101 fully equipped villas, restaurants, a pool and clubhouse, a disco and green areas. The project was completed, and the resort opened on December 26, 1980.
The project’s main promoters were well-known Costa Rican businessmen. In 1989, the group built a 54- room hotel adjacent to the property, which opened on November 23. In 1993, the group developed the Condominio La Costa del Cacique, which encompassed 110 fully equipped villas, featuring one, two and three bedrooms. The project proceeded in four stages, with the first 48 units sold in 1996. The second stage was completed in 1998, the third stage in 2005 and the fourth and final stage in 2007 with the last 14 villas.
