In order to be able to legally marry in Costa Rica please read the following items for your consideration.
Marriage Requirements:
- Complete name with surnames.
- Nationality & passport number.
- Age at the time of the wedding.
- Birth place (city, state, country).
- Profession or occupation.
- Exact & detailed address of your home.
- Original valid passport & copies for both Groom & Bride.
- Marital status certification for both Groom & Bride, authenticated by the nearest Costa Rica Consulate office.
In case of previous divorce you should add the name of the previous partner, place and date where the divorce took place; or if applicable, place and date of decease.
Additionally, in order to be able to legally register your wedding in the country of origin, you should obtain a matrimony certification released by the Costa Rica Civil Registry; and it should also be translated by an official translator and authenticated by a notary public. This document is processed by the CR Civil Registry, and then is air-mailed to the newlyweds. Our staff will gladly assist you with these necessary arrangements to make your wedding a dream come true.
